called up in sin for london, called up in london for sin
Happy Friday 13th March 2009!
i had such a "great" week of luck...
was called up on monday to operate a flight into London at 7am, meaning i had 2hr 45mins to pack and prepare.
finneeee... i accept it.
the evening before standby in london, one of the junior was called up. she was to depart the next morning.
next morning, i woke up at 8am(london time) and attend the briefing at 11am. all clear at the moment.
after briefing, went to exchange some stuff. tabao lunch and back in room by 2pm. still all clear. no blinking messages on the hotel phone. no notes slipped under door.
getting groggier after lunch but had to stay awake till night fall. coz once i nap a bit, i'll have problems sleeping at night. what's more, there's a live match between Man U and Inter at 730pm.

me: hello!
guy; hi, is that fss fiona? i'm calling from xxxxxxxx. you have been activated for the flight departing later at nite.
me: *silence, heart stop*
guy: helloooooo???
me: huh? tonight? later? are u kidding?
guy: errrmm... yup, later at night. let me double check. *paper rustling* yes! it's tonight! in a short while in fact.
me: no shit! wat time is the pick up?
guy: 735pm pick up.
me: it's almost 530pm now!!!!!!!!!
guy: ya... someone report sick pretty last min.
me: this is too lat min lorrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
guy: eehh... yeah.. u have 'bout an hour or so to prepare. call time is at 635am.
i haven eat. i haven pack. i haven finish my grocery shopping. i cant watch the match. i woke up at 8am! im so freaking tired!!! duty time to n fro is 17hrs and 15hrs!

called up (as usual)
haven even gotten over the jet lag from milan and now called up LONDON, AGAIN!!
this is the second time they call me for london. why cant they call earlier like after midnight so i have ample time to prepare? why must call at 7am when the reporting is at 1055am, meaning i have to prepare at 8-ish and get out of the house at 945am?
no wonder i couldnt sleep despite all the prata-flipping tactics since 1am. i managed to fall asleep at 2am n suddenly jolted awak at 3am. had this feeling of my name being called... called and check, nothing yet. STILL couldnt sleep. almost dozing off when the house phone rang, which also brings the question of why cant they call my mobile first ah?? knn.
i knew it.
i gotten "lucky" for the second time.
and i only slept for ONE HOUR.
milan time difference was 7hrs.
london is 8hrs.
i'm still so tired from the time difference (not because of the shopping horrr), then now this. some might say "this is extra income. somemore now recession!".
but i guess right now, i rather have my health than this kind "time-adapting" life.
who say nowadays standby wont get call up de ah?
